Default Hi everybody

My name is Beata.
2 or 3 months ago, having very hard time in my life, as usual in such a period, I was looking for baroque music. I remebered film about Farinelli, so put his name into youtube. And then ... I saw link to Vivaldi aria singing by man with extraordinary voice... Yes, his name is Philippe. And magic started. CDs, DVDs, and last sunday (17/08/08) concert Maestro di Boemia in Prague, Czech Republic .... It`s hard to say how it happend, but after the concerd I talked with Philippe. Just few sentences, but it was really, really great event for me.
He was supprised that we (I was with my doughter, husband and friend) came from Warsaw to Prague only due to him. By car in total it`s about 1400 km, but for sure we do not regret .
If somebody is interested in it I could give more information about concert.

Hi Beata,

Welcome to the site. I love Jaroussky's voice myself and a lot of others here do too. Any information would be nice to learn.

Default Philippe Jaroussky

Welcome to the site.
It is interesting that Philippe Jaroussky has become a "super-star" in Europe and with music lovers who are aware of him through his CDs and on the internet. His wonderful voice, intelligence, musical talent, good looks, and charm make him very appealing to audiences. Unfortunately, I am not sure that a similar person in America or some other countries would do so well singing Baroque music with a countertenor voice.

I guess here in the US there are still horrible stereotypes and expectations for men to sound like men. That is not dissuading me from pursuing my countertenor dreams....
