Recordings of male soprano Jorge Cano Columbian Jorge Cano is reported to be a true male soprano who, in addition to Baroque arias, has sung "Der Holle Rache" from "Zauberflote." (See his portrait in the Gallery.) I never have been able, however, to hear his voice or acquire recordings. An American voice professor described his voice as full-voice, male soprano, not falsetto. I attempted to contact the professor only to discover that she had died. I also acquired the Columbian email address supposedly of Cano's voice teacher. I sent an email inquiring about possible recordings; however, I never received a reply.
I would like to see you members who are fans of fine music and beautiful voices and who have research and internet skills conduct a persistent search for any possible recordings. Any information about CDs, MP3 files, or even DVDs, please post on this site. Please note that the names "Jorge, Cano" and "Jorge Cano" are common in South America, rather like "Joe Smith" in America.
NOTE: Malesopranos and Altos is an unsusual site and a good means of sharing information and expanding our knowledge. I would like to encourage members to participate in preparing and posting materials as well as viewing the postings of others. sfkcbf |
