- Andrew started to show musical skills at a tender age of 6. He had his first opportunity to sing in while in high school. He started as a treble singer in the choir.
His talent got him into the Holy Child Choir, Holy Family Catholic Church Festac town Lagos Nigeria in 1997 after graduation from high school and he continued to sing with the choir. In 1999, he had his first debut as a soloist in the performance of G.F. Handel’s Judas Maccabeus. He performed in several concerts with the choir notable amongst them is The Creation by Joseph Haydn in 2000.
His passion for singing got him into the Musical Society of Nigeria (MUSON) festival choir in 2001. He undertook a second audition to join the MUSON Choir in 2003. He has performed with them in several works notable amongst them are; Messiah and Ode to St. Cecilia’s Day (Handel), Creation (Haydn), Marriage of Figaro, Requiem and Coronation Mass (Mozart), 9th Choral Symphony (Beethoven), Gloria (Vivaldi), Choral Symphony (Mendelssohn), and some Nigerian Choral works.
His first musical education though informal was in 1999, he was taught how to read music. His formal music education started in 2001 when he gained admission into the Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education Ijanikin Lagos Nigeria and he subsequently graduated in 2004 with a certificate in music education (Majoring on Voice). He also obtained certificates from the prestigious Musical Society of Nigeria (MUSON) School of music in singing Grade 5 (2003) and Theory of music Grade 4-merit (2004) and Grade 6 (2005). He started taking vocal lesson in 2002 from a singer/vocal teacher Dele Nelson-Cole.
As an MezzoSoprano Soloist he has performed in few performances ranging from Cantatas to Oratorios amongst them are; The Rolling Season by Caleb Simper, The Messiah by G.f. Handel, Judas Maccabeus by G.f. Handel, Esther by G.f. Handel. He just began studies on the operatic roles Cherubino and Giulio Caesare.
His dream is to get an operatic role in the nearest future as well as more vocal studies. - Location
