He gained fame as a prolific Baroque opera composer, often writing a new opera each year. In 1741, he met Farinelli’s friend Padre Martini in Bologna, where he gained further musical instruction. His performances were produced throughout Italy, Spain, Austria, and Germany. His musical style began as primarily Neapolitan but later was influenced by his stay in Stuttgart.
