Paolo Abel do Nascimento, male soprano
Information
| | Title | Paolo Abel do Nascimento, male soprano | | Description | Paulo Abel do Nascimento (1957-1992) was the 15th child of a poor family in Fortaleza, Brazil. Because of an endocrinological anomaly, his physical development was arrested; and his voice did not change. He studied composition and conducting in São Paolo. He later studied in Europe. His singing debut was in 1981 in Belgium. The earliest audio/visual recording of him (from which this image was taken) was when he was quite young, and he obviously was terrified to have been asked to sing with so little training. His voice had an unfortunate, extreme vibrato, which interfered with his ability to sing attractively. He appeared briefly in the film “Dangerous Liaisons,” playing the role of a castrato. He died in Paris of an AIDS related illness. sfk | | All times are GMT. The time now is 09:20 PM. |
